About
La’Tika Howard is a corporate attorney passionate about helping businesses navigate growth, investment, and strategic transactions. She supports start-ups, emerging companies, and investors through every stage of the business lifecycle—from formation through succession planning—and provides outside general counsel services to a variety of privately-held businesses. Her practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, and general counsel representation, particularly within the tech and life sciences sectors.
La’Tika has advised entrepreneurs, investors, and high-growth companies at both regional and international law firms, bringing a practical, business-minded approach to every deal and client relationship. Whether structuring a multi-million-dollar acquisition or counseling a founder on their first financing round, she remains focused on delivering value and building trust.
La’Tika’s practice brings creative ways to deliver legal service that is more entrepreneurial and client-focused as evidenced in part by the venture studio that she is involved in building at Jensen & McComas. Beyond her legal practice, La’Tika is deeply committed to leadership and service in Maryland’s legal community. She served on the Board of Maryland Volunteer Legal Services (2021–2024), completed the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Pathfinder Program, and mentors several current and future law school students through the Fannie Angelos Program for Academic Excellence and other programs.
La’Tika is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Baltimore School of Law, where she served as a Rule 19 Student Attorney in the Saul Ewing Civil Advocacy Clinic and Staff Editor of the University of Baltimore Law Review.
