About
Cecelia “Cece” Gans concentrates her practice in both transactional law and estate and trust law, offering clients a comprehensive and solutions-oriented approach to their legal needs. On the business side, she advises clients in connection with commercial transactions, leasing, intellectual property, real estate matters, and mergers and acquisitions. She regularly serves as outside general counsel to business owners, providing day-to-day guidance on operational issues, contract negotiation, compliance, and risk management. Known for her responsiveness and business-minded perspective, Cece partners closely with clients to anticipate challenges and develop strategies that support long-term growth and stability.
In addition to her business practice, Cece advises individuals and families on estate and trust planning and administration, special needs planning, and guardianship matters. She frequently works with business owners to align their personal and business planning, including succession strategies designed to preserve wealth and ensure continuity across generations. Likewise, her estate and trust clients often rely on her for guidance related to closely held businesses and other assets, allowing her to deliver cohesive and forward-thinking counsel.
Cece is an active member of the Estate & Trust Law and Business Law Sections of the Maryland State Bar Association. She also serves on the board of Cornerstone Community Housing, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting men experiencing homelessness.
Cece earned her B.A. in Political Science from Seton Hall University and her J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law. While in law school, she served as a Rule 19 Student Attorney in the Community Development Clinic and as a staff editor of the University of Baltimore Law Forum. Prior to entering private practice, she served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Shannon E. Avery of the Circuit Court for Baltimore City.
