Representative Cases
-
Savage v Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corp., 2021. Bill successfully represented the FHLMC (“Freddie Mac”) in an action originally filed in the Circuit Court for Baltimore City and subsequently removed to the U.S. District Court for Maryland, which granted Freddie Mac’s motion for summary judgment.
-
Maryland Department of the Environment v. WAZ Investments, 2021: The judge in this case granted Bill’s motion for judgment, and all counts of the MDE complaint were dismissed.
-
City Homes, Inc. v. Hazlewood, 2013: In this case, Bill had a large verdict against his client City Homes reversed on the grounds that the trial judge had abused her discretion by permitting plaintiff’s counsel to present testimony from a medical expert who was not qualified to offer opinions on the sources or effects of lead.
-
Angstadt v. Atlantic Mutual Insurance Company, 1997. This oft-cited Virginia Supreme Court decision supports the premise that insureds have a duty to cooperate with their insurers. Bill’s client Atlantic Mutual was relieved of any duty to indemnify Angstadt or his company due to the failure of its CEO to appear in Utah for a court-ordered deposition.
